Naming a capital campaign is hard…

It has to express the right sentiment and feel connected to a brand in a natural way. When we came up with “Better Because” I knew it said just what we wanted. We wanted our community to be better because we’re here. We wanted families and neighbors and schools and nonprofits to all be better because we’re here. And we wanted Decatur City to be better because of the people who invested in it.

This campaign expressed the heart of Decatur City and provided the opportunity for hundreds of people to invest in the future of their local church—that could in turn invest back into the community.

This brand was complimentary to the Decatur City Church brand and expressed itself through multiple videos, print pieces and regularly in the vernacular of the leadership and organization. The art deco/stained glass/mosaic design was a reference to the building we were raising money to renovation and reflected the era in which it was built and the many stained glass windows in the facility—an uncommon feature in a modern church facility.
